I then tried exiting and restarting about 100 times in the past 24 hrs.
I have let it take 6 days doing this to no avail. It's a window pop up that says it's under the steam application, one will say 'installing update' another, 'verifying package' then goes to, 'downloading update' for 2 seconds and back to verifying (rinse repeat) the steam log in window does not pop up so I can't log in and change if i am or am not in a beta version (which I know I am not).
